“One day Jesus said to his disciples, “Let us go over to the other side of the lake.” So they got into a boat and set out. As they sailed, he fell asleep. A storm came down on the lake, so that the boat was being swamped, and they were in great danger. The disciples went and woke him, saying, “Master, Master, we’re going to drown!” He got up and rebuked the wind and the raging waters; the storm subsided, and all was calm. “Where is your faith?” he asked his disciples. In fear and amazement they asked one another, “Who is this? He commands even the winds and the water, and they obey him.”” Luke 8:22-25
We live in a world where storms will come. Sometimes they will be little and will not last long or cause too much trouble. Could be just a quick lesson we will learn from. Sometimes those storms will be so big and overwhelming you will think to yourself, how am I going to get through this? Do not get discouraged, we have all been there in life. Sometimes your vision gets blurred and you cannot see through the storm to the other side and it is scary. Other times you realize God is allowing the storm to refine you or teach you something. Do not get me wrong, even if that is the case it does not make it any easier to go through.
I am here to tell you that there is good news. In the verse above, Jesus stood up and calmed the storm when the disciples woke Him up and brought it to His attention. All we need to do is humble ourselves. Get on our knees and pray to Jesus to help us. Ask Him to calm the storm. He might even help you understand what we are supposed to get out of what is going on.
Be Blessed, Dave
